Jon de Bufanos is an accomplished finance executive and Chartered Accountant (SA) with over two decades of experience across accounting, corporate finance, operations and strategic leadership. He has been with the group for 15 years and has served as Chief Finance Officer for the past 10, working closely with Murray to guide the group’s financial strategy, operational performance and long-term growth across a diverse portfolio.
Driven by curiosity and a focus on continuous improvement, Jon leads with analytical rigour, integrity and collaboration. He is a family man who enjoys holidays with his wife and children and is keen on conservation, fishing, sport and the outdoors.

Sean’s passion for conservation and hospitality began early, growing up in a hospitality family and spending his childhood in game reserves. Over a 25-year career, he’s developed a deep understanding of the hospitality landscape and its many layers. Working alongside philanthropists across Southern and East Africa, Sean has helped preserve vast wilderness areas through responsible tourism. His time with leading global hospitality brands has shaped a unique skill set - one rooted in ethics, purpose, and the advancement of African hospitality.
Known for his strategic vision and people-first leadership, Sean brings teams together through shared purpose, creating an environment where culture, ambition and enjoyment align to deliver lasting value.

Carly is an admitted attorney of the High Court and a dynamic leader in large-scale commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. She guides projects from concept to completion, structuring agreements, securing funding, and ensuring regulatory compliance. As a strategic link between legal, financial, and operational teams, she brings clarity, precision, and calm confidence to complex work. Her strong grounding in contract law, securitisation, property, town planning, company law, and deal funding - paired with her attention to detail and negotiating finesse - anchors her success in the boardroom.
Outside of work, Carly embraces the outdoors, especially running and waterskiing. Above all, she is a devoted mother whose two children fill her life with joy, love, and laughter.

With a BCom and BCom Honours from the University of Natal (2001), Nadira is a seasoned finance professional with over 20 years’ experience across accounting, taxation, and financial management in private practice and family-owned businesses. For the past nine years, she has overseen the financial management of the Syncerus Group, working closely with her team to ensure full legislative compliance and the delivery of accurate, reliable financial information to support informed shareholder decision-making. Known for her collaborative, people-focused leadership style, Nadira is deeply passionate about training, mentorship, and professional development, making her an integral part of the Syncerus team.
Outside of work, Nadira enjoys travelling, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband and two teenage sons.

With more than 20 years at Syncerus, Gillian is a trusted and deeply valued member of the team. As Executive Assistant and Office Manager, she brings a wealth of experience, serving as Murray’s go-to person with dependable support and a “consider it done” mindset that allows him to focus on building businesses that matter.Leading quietly but effectively, Gillian’s adaptability, attention to detail, and broad understanding of workflows enable her to step in wherever needed to help the team achieve its goals. Guided by integrity and a commitment to excellence, she invests meaningfully in those around her.
